For whom is this meant for?

If you are able to communicate effectively and confidently in English, whether for study or work purposes, this exam is designed just for you. This prestigious test is taken by an incredible 60,000 or candidates every year in as much as 60 countries.
CAE is one of the advanced Cambridge exams.

What is the CAE test like?

The test has five sections:

  1. Reading: 75 minutes
  2. Writing: 2 to 3 tasks 120 minutes
  3. Use of English: 50 questions, 5 tasks 60 minutes
  4. Listening: 30 questions, 40 minutes,
  5. Speaking: In the form of an interview, usually with some other candidate, 15 minutes

Score

A, B, C (pass), D, E or U (fail)
CAE pass is acknowledged for admission to certain universities.
The Reading, Writing, Use of English, Listening and Speaking sections each take up 20% of the marks.
After the exams, a Statement of Results will be sent to you. In case your performance falls between the CEFR Levels B2 and C2, you also will be awarded a certificate.
Pass grades:
Grade A(C2), Grade B(C1), Grade C(C1)
Even if you don’t pass, but still fare reasonably well in the exam you will be issued with a B2 certificate.
